Friends Rock!

Tonight our great friends Amanda and Ethan came over with their little ones, Grayson and Bailey!  We love hanging out with them - had the best time!

Mike made an awesome marinade and injected chicken leg quarters with it, we had baked potatos, Amanda brought a salad, and we had stuffed jalapenos as well.  The food was great, and we also made sugar cookies and let the kiddos decorate them.  Talk about a mess!

What can we say - at least the mess was contained!

We even gave them "knives" (aka cheese spreaders) to put frosting on them!

Sophia sat at the picnic table like a big girl - she loved it!

This was Bailey's cookie - I put the mouth on it.  We decided it looked like the gingerbread man from Shrek. "Not the gumdrops!"

After the sugar fest, Amanda and I went upstairs with the kids while the guys watched the Colts pummel the Ravens and talked handguns.  I made Amanda look through my scrapbooks - she was gracious enough to act like she liked them! 

Sammy, Bailey and Grayson became over fascinated with Sammy's kitchen.  It has a feature which they think is really cool.  Me - not so much.  It is a little container that you fill up with water and place in the freezer part of the refrigerator, and then it has a spigot so you can fill up your cup, just like a real kitchen!  Sounds fun in theory, but in practice, there's water all over the playroom floor.  Good thing it's just water!
