Firecrackers
- 1 box of saltines
- 1-1/3 cup vegetable oil
- package of ranch dressing mix
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Arrange the saltines or other crackers in an airtight sealable bowl. Mix all other ingredients in a separate bowl and pour over the crackers. Place the lid on top, then turn over several times. Turn every 15 minutes for approximately 2 hours.
These things are HOT, but they are great - really open up the sinuses! We made them for Christmas at my mom's, and Mike decided to make them again the other day just to have them at home. I ate some last night, and I guess I must have left a Cheez-It in the chair (we like to make ours with saltines and Cheez-Its).
Mike and Sammy were up early this morning, and all of the sudden, Sammy came running over to Mike, wiping his tongue and saying, "Daddy, that was a bad Cheez-it! I don't like that Cheez-It! I want a good Cheez-It! That was a BAD Cheez-It!" Ooooops - I guess he found a leftover Cheez-It somewhere and popped it into his mouth!
Two things - A - YUCK! Whose kid eats food they find on the floor or in random chairs? Apparently, mine does. And B - I hope he learned a lesson here - just because it looks like it might be good, doesn't always mean it IS good. You need to look beyond the exterior to see what's really there - 9 times out of 10, it's probably a BAD Cheez-It!
Had any Bad Cheez-Its lately?
I think Noah is going to have to take the credit for that bad cheez-it. He spilled more times than I can count. We must have missed one. Oops!! Sorry Sammy!
ReplyDeleteNope, the dog already got those! That was definitely a Firecracker Cheez-It!
